Tackling Time Management

What are some of your best time-management strategies to make sure you finish all your homework before class?

Dear Anonymous,

I find one of the best time management strategies is to look at your work on a weekly (or bi-weekly) basis, rather than day by day. In My Hilltop, you should always view the calendar by week, rather than by day, because this will give you a clear idea of how to prioritize your time. It’s a good rule of thumb to start major assignments (like essays or studying for tests) AT LEAST three days ahead of time, so that you are not overloaded, trying to complete a huge assignment in one day. Just by studying for 30 min-1 hour a day, three days ahead of time, will benefit you greatly. I also like to start off the week by making a schedule for all my assignments for the week, paired with a schedule of where I will go to CCL for the week. This prevents me from wasting CCL time, which is critical because it is some of the only time you can get one on one help from your teachers.
