Food Review: Pressed Cafe

Picture this: It’s late at night, you haven’t eaten since your lunch break at 11:30am, and you are absolutely starving. You pull up your phone and see that your only food options are cheap, low-quality, fast food restaurants like McDonald’s and Burger King. You sigh, put your phone down and decide to go home, and afterward, probably make a sad sandwich thatwill leave you waking up at 3am with a growling stomach.

Don’t worry; those depressing nights are now over! Pressed Cafe–with locations in Newton, MA; Clinton, MA; Burlington, MA; Boston, MA; Nashua, NH; and Salem, NH–is the go-to place for every meal. Not only are they open from 5:00am to 10:00pm every day (and they serve breakfast all day, every day!), but they also have an extensive menu that can meet any dietary needs. Their menu features a delicious selection of coffee, real-fruit smoothies, raw juice and tonics, tasty acai bowls, many breakfast options (such as burritos and sandwiches), fresh salads and homemade soups, a LARGE assortment of paninis (over 30 to choose from!), toasts with various toppings, and plenty of signature bowls to satisfy your hunger.

I am vegan and gluten-free, so I find it hard to eat in many restaurants without making an absurd amount of customizations to meals. In my personal experience, Pressed Cafe has accommodations that meet my dietary restrictions, and, because of this, is always an excellent option for me to grab something to eat. Pressed even has a separate vegan menu that I frequently order off of, making it easy for me to know whether I can eat something. The chefs also customize any sandwich to be on a gluten-free wrap or gluten-free bread, so there is no doubt in my mind that anyone reading this article can find something that they will want to eat here! The only criticism that I would have is that Pressed is somewhat overpriced; but it is totally worth it, in my opinion.

My favorite meals from Pressed are the Vegan Spicy BBQ Kebab Panini, the Vegan Jaffa Salad, the Vegan Mandarin Miri Salad, and the Vegan Sweet & Spicy Kebab Bowl. I love all of these meals because of their bright flavors and variety of ingredients. My favorite of their sauces is their tangy and sweet BBQ sauce that I wish I could put on everything, and I also enjoy their extremely spicy spread called “schug” (make sure you have something to drink when you eat this spread!). Additionally, their selection of paleo baked goods is to die for; you have to try their carrot cake muffin!

Overall, I highly recommend Pressed Cafe as a go-to restaurant if you want a quick, healthy, and satisfying meal. With so many locations, you don’t have an excuse not to try it!
