Boys Basketball Topples Lawrence

After a thrilling performance by the Boys Varsity Basketball team on Wednesday the 13th, they secured a solid 81 to 75 overtime win against Lawrence Academy.

The first WA basket was scored within the first minutes of the start of the game by Sophomore, Josh Ogundele. The game commenced into a series of turnovers and baskets, causing an extremely close game. Towards the middle of the second half it looked like the Hilltoppers were done for after they began trailing by over ten points.

With the help of the crowd – one of the largest displays of school spirit in years – WA was able to catch up to the Spartans. With a basket by Jordan McAllister ‘19 to tie up the game, the Hilltoppers headed into overtime, where they rapidly gained and held a lead over LA to win the game.

After an away game at St. Andrew’s on Friday, the boys have some time off for the holidays. They jump right back into their season Saturday, January 6th at home, where they will face Wilbraham and Monson Academy.
