Boys Varsity Basketball Update

The Worcester Academy Varsity Boys Basketball team has had a busy season with over 15 games under their belt and 11 games left to go. It has been a rollercoaster of a season with 6 wins and 9 losses overall.

This past week the Hilltoppers faced St. Thomas More on Wednesday the 24th and Vermont Academy on Saturday the 27th. After a hard fought battle and a game that remained close for the duration, STM pulled ahead towards the end of the game and lead Worcester Academy in a 66-55 point win. However, the Hilltoppers were able to redeem themselves on Saturday in a win against Vermont Academy. The Hilltopper’s success began just seconds after center, Josh Ogundele ‘20, won the tip. After the first basket was scored, the Hilltoppers kept their lead for the extent of the game.

The team will travel to Master’s School this upcoming Wednesday the 31st, and to South Kent School for a tournament on Friday, February 2nd. Their next home game is not for another couple weeks, on Wednesday, February 14th. In the meantime you can head out to support some of the school’s other winter sports teams during their home events, including the Girls Varsity Basketball game this Wednesday or the swim meet also on Wednesday!
