Battle for the Hilltop: Day 5

Friday 2/14

Welcome to the Final Day of Battle for the Hilltop 2024-2025! The theme was team colors, with Hoffman in red, Boston in blue, Rowe in green, and Porter in yellow. When the school gathered at Rowe Court later in the day for final performances and sat in teams, different sections of the gym came alive with the four different colors and lots of energy. The final score of this year:

  1. Rowe, winning Battle for the Hilltop with 2583 points!
  2. Porter (2432)
  3. Boston (2289)
  4. Hoffman (2023)

Final points were scored during CCL with games in the Student Center. At 1:00 pm, students were directed to Rowe Court, where the talent show took place. Each team’s performance began with a “hype video” made by their team’s talented videographer, tailored to their team’s namesake with highlights from the week’s competitions, and some also included cameos from recent alums. Team Porter’s hype video kicked off the event and won first place, and the team had a dance routine led by Middlers. Next up was Boston with their sketch and dance routine, focusing on a spoof on the history of Battle for the Hilltop. After that was Team Rowe with a dance routine including middle schoolers and teachers alike whipping their hair back and forth, winning the talent show performance. Finally, Team Hoffman kicked off their routine with a reading of Abbie Hoffman’s manifesto and then led a dance routine that included solos of many different student talents, a SZA/Kendrick Lamar feature, and a Destiny’s Child appearance led by Trainer Meg, Ms. Gere, and Ms. Schlesinger.

This week has been an exciting Battle for the Hilltop, with tons of fun games, activities, and overall team spirit. Congratulations to Team Rowe on their win! We can’t wait to see who wins the Battle for the Hilltop next year!
