November Poem: Lily Zifcak

Lily Zifcak

Forbidden Fears

When darkness caves in

Hope becomes a dream

Washed away by the fears of tomorrow

Drowning in the memories of yesterday

Crumbled to the floor

A lifeless body is found

Enveloped in panic

Surrounded by hundreds of grief-stricken thoughts

Hands reach out

Piercing through

the darkness

Each hand helping to mend the fragile heart

And as sorrow starts to fade

Unidentified, the hands remain

Proof of survival

From the most dangerous thing of all

Isolation
